Meet OUR INSTRUCTORS
Jaci Vanderloo
Jaci is a softball instructor and former collegiate athlete who played at Saint Louis University, where she graduated in 2024. During her time at SLU, Jaci was part of the team that won the Atlantic 10 Conference Regular Season Championship in 2023. Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, Jaci played for Nebraska Gold, one of the top club teams in the country, which placed 6th nationally during her time on the team.
Throughout her career, Jaci played catcher, 1st base, 3rd base, and outfield, giving her a comprehensive understanding of the game. Each lesson Jaci offers is tailored to the player's individual needs and will focus on hitting, fielding, or catching, depending on their goals. Lessons begin with an analysis of the player's current skill level, with development plans created from there. All lessons include a combination of drills, repetitions, game-like situations, and often fun to keep players engaged while building their skills. Every session concludes with a recap of key takeaways and areas to focus on before the next meeting.
While Jaci encourages players to work on skills outside of lessons, the expectation is for practice to be manageable and not overly extensive. Jaci’s personalized approach ensures that every player builds confidence, sharpens their skills, and deepens their love for the game.
Lauren Delaney
Lauren is a collegiate-level pitching instructor who was a starting pitcher for four years at Northwestern University. She played professionally in Europe for two seasons following her college career. Lauren has been providing pitching lessons since 2008, including one year of instruction at Webster University.
A first session will consist of an analysis of the player to assess their skill level and go over basic drills and what to expect from future lessons. Typical lessons will go over drills as well as quality reps in either pitching/hitting/fielding. Older players will also get coached on the mental aspects of the game and game situations. With younger players we will usually play a more game like drill during the lesson to keep it fun and go over basic rules to enrich their understanding of the game. All lessons finish with a recap of what the player needs to work on before the next session. I expect players to practice on their own between sessions. You should plan on having someone to catch, if you cannot do this please let me know ahead of time and we will likely be able to make it work without a catch.
